Job overview

Job Purpose

To clean areas of the school as directed by the Housekeeper, to the required standard. At least one year's previous experience would be beneficial, and .


Duties

  1. Vacuuming carpet and wooden floor areas.
  2. Dusting edges ledges and furniture.
  3. Damp wiping of window sills edges and ledges.
  4. Window cleaning.
  5. Polishing of furniture pictures etc.
  6. Buffing and burnishing.
  7. Rubbish removal.
  8. Stocking up of toilet rolls and paper hand towels.
  9. Any other jobs that might commensurate with the post.


Qualifications

NVQ in cleaning would be an advantage but the willingness to work hard individually and as part of a team is very important.


Health and Safety

  • Adhere to the school’s waste policy
  • Understand and ensure the implementation of the schools Health & Safety policy, and emergency Fire procedures
  • Report any faulty appliances, damaged furniture equipment or any potential hazard
  • Promote safe working practices within the school


General

  • Promote and ensure the good reputation of the school
  • Notify the House Keeper as soon as possible if you are unable to attend work
