Benenden School is looking to appoint a suitably qualified individual with military experience to the position of School Staff Instructor to join and play a key role in our Combined Cadet Force.

The Combined Cadet Force at Benenden School comprises a Royal Navy and Army section.

School Staff Instructors act as military advisors to the Headmistress and the Contingent Commander. These roles are central to the smooth and efficient running of the Contingent. This includes its administration and the organisation and delivery of military training to all members of the Combined Cadet Force at Benenden & John Wallis Academy.

We are open to offering the role as part time, working on a term time only basis. However, if you are also interested and able to fulfil the position of School Minibus Driver we can offer the role on a full time, term time only basis.

The part time salary for this role is £22,697.41 per annum, based on 32 hours per week, during term time, plus 3 weeks in the school holidays.

The full-time salary for this role including School Minibus Driver responsibilities is £29,159.94 pa, based on 40 hours per week, during term time, plus 4 weeks in the school holidays.

About You

The ideal candidate is likely to be an ex-Regular Officer, Warrant Officer, Senior Non-Commissioned Officer or Late Entry Officer or an experienced member of the Army Reserve or Army Cadet Force (or equivalent). Experience of working with young people is essential.

The candidate will have excellent communication skills and possess ICT skills commensurate with their duties. Ideally, they will be familiar with the military reporting system and inspection regimes.

It is a genuine occupational requirement that the successful candidate is physically able to lift, bend and carry.

The appointment is subject to approval and security clearance by the MoD.
