About Us

Global Academy is an innovative school that offers an exceptional education tailored for students passionate about the media and creative industries. With just over 500 students, we pride ourselves on being a close-knit community where every student is known and supported to reach their full potential. Our modern, industry-focused curriculum prepares students for future careers in media, broadcasting, and beyond.

The Role

As a Cover Supervisor at Global Academy, you’ll step into a variety of classrooms to maintain the learning momentum when teachers are unavailable due to courses, trips, or other commitments. Your role is to ensure students remain focused and engaged, working through pre-set tasks under your supervision.

This is an ideal position for someone considering a future career in teaching, or for those with a passion for supporting young people’s education and development. You won’t need to worry about preparing lessons, marking work, or planning – it’s all about inspiring and guiding students to keep their learning on track!

What You'll Do:

  • Deliver pre-prepared lessons and cover a range of subjects, maintaining a positive and engaging classroom environment.
  • Support students in their learning, providing encouragement and guidance as they work through tasks.
  • Ensure that the Academy’s high standards for behaviour and focus are maintained throughout every session.
  • Manage classroom resources, assist in setting up lessons, and ensure a smooth start and end to every class.
  • Maintain accurate records of attendance and promptly report any issues or concerns to the relevant staff members.
  • Play a key role in upholding our safeguarding and health and safety standards, ensuring every student feels safe and supported.

Who We’re Looking For:

  • You’ll have experience working with secondary school-aged students and have strong classroom management skills.
  • You are a confident communicator, able to engage and inspire students with a positive and calm approach.
  • A natural team player, you’ll enjoy collaborating with colleagues and supporting the wider teaching and learning team.
  • Flexible and adaptable, you’ll be ready to take on new challenges as they arise and be a reliable presence in the classroom.
  • If you have a degree or relevant qualifications, great! But if not, we value your passion and commitment just as much.

What We Offer:

  • A unique, college-style atmosphere that fosters creativity and independence.
  • A small school environment where staff and students form close relationships and support one another.
  • Opportunities to engage in a range of school-wide projects, events, and enrichment activities.
  • A supportive and professional working environment where staff development is prioritised, with access to ongoing training and professional development.
  • The chance to work with students who are passionate, driven, and excited about their future careers.

Why Global Academy?
