In this pivotal role, you will be responsible for shaping the Spanish language curriculum, fostering a love for the language, and guiding both students and teachers to success. With a focus on innovation, cultural enrichments, and academic excellence, you will ensure high standards of teaching while creating an engaging and inclusive learning environment.

If you are a leader with a deep commitment to education, we want to hear from you! Apply now and help inspire the next generation of global citizens.

At The Skinners’ Kent Academy, every student has the opportunity from Year 7 to develop their ability to understand and communicate in Spanish and French. We want our students to believe in themselves and strive to be the best they can in order to succeed in further language study.

The Languages curriculum aims to give our students the opportunity to acquire new knowledge, skills and ways of thinking through the ability to understand and respond to a rich range of authentic spoken and written material including literary texts. We encourage our students to be enthusiastic, engaged and challenged by embracing the richness and the diversity of different cultures through research, conceptual understanding tasks, and trips abroad.

The Languages team promote a love of language learning and strive to create an environment where students are encouraged to be confident and independent learners who are not afraid to communicate in a different language for education, employment and leisure in this country or throughout the world.   In September 2023, The Skinners' Kent Academy was selected by the Department for Education to oversee one of its Language Hubs. Working in partnership with Dartford Grammar School, the Academy is one of only 19 schools in England to have been chosen.

Under the Language Hub initiative, the Academy will take the lead in promoting language studies amongst students, spanning from Primary school to GCSEs. It will also be aiming to enhance language offerings within schools and ensure that all students aged 14-18 have the opportunity to pursue language studies through to Key Stage 5.

We offer:

Valuable Pension Scheme; Cycle to Work; Kent Rewards; Referral Bonus; Free onsite Gym; Electric Vehicle Charging Stations.

We reserve the right to make an appointment before the closing date, so early applications are encouraged.

Ofsted report

“The school motto of ‘pride in our success’ permeates through how pupils conduct themselves around the school. They strive to become well-rounded and respectful members of society. Pupils show kindness and consideration to each other because they want everyone to feel included. A strong pastoral provision in every key stage means that pupils feel well supported and have someone to go to if they need help. Should bullying happen, pupils know that staff will help them resolve issues quickly. Relationships between staff and pupils are nurturing and positive. This means that pupils feel safe and well looked after.
