The role and what we are looking for

The Curriculum Leader of Computer Science and IT will work with our growing team of middle leaders and teaching staff to ensure excellence across the Academy. The ideal candidate will be dynamic, flexible and committed to ensuring that our Academy provides the very best opportunities for every single student. The successful candidate will have the expertise and knowledge to introduce areas such as Business Studies and iMedia into the curriculum.

We are therefore looking for an outstanding, flexible practitioner with drive and commitment and an unrelenting focus on the progress of all the students in the Academy. We require a teacher with passion for their subject. We are also seeking a candidate who is keen to offer the best opportunities for students to experience both in and out of school. In return you will benefit professionally from the wealth of expertise and experience of our family of Academies, along with a range of support services based at Oasis National Office.

You must be willing to model and support the Oasis ethos.

This role is essential in the development of the Academy as it grows in size, year on year, to eventually house 1500 students.

Our Academy

We are a secondary school in Oldham, Greater Manchester that opened in 2018 and are dedicated to supporting our young people to reach their potential. We leave no child behind; our progress data is incredibly strong and it is attributed to the hard work of our staff and students. We work together, sharing this educational journey with a common goal - develop happy and successful leaders who are culturally enriched role models in our community. Being part of the Oasis Community Learning multi-academy trust, we benefit from support and sharing of best practice from our regional schools, Regional Director and wider Oasis family.

We opened the Academy in temporary accommodation in 2018, with just 230 students across two year groups. In November 2020 we moved into our new, permanent home, which is a state of the art building that sits on the old Breeze Hill School site located on Roxbury Avenue, just off Lees Road in Oldham. We currently serve over 1,300 students, after welcoming another 300 Year 7s into the Academy in September. We will be at full capacity, with 1500 students, by 2025-2026. We are a school of choice within Oldham, with a 'Good' Ofsted rating.
