Boarding Standards

  • Ensure school policies are compliant with the National Minimum Standards for co-educational boarding in the context of Bangladesh and in line with COBIS Compliance
  • Develop consistency of operational practice in boarding standards for a coeducational context
  • Review the impact of practice of a termly basis


Safe, Happy, Successful Students

  • Build activities for advanced performance, enterprising learning and student leadership
  • Ensure effective study arrangements, conducive to continuous academic progress
  • Oversee safeguarding standards
  • Ensure proactive, positive and regular communication with parents


Key Attributes

Qualification & Experience

Essential

  • Recognised teaching qualification (PGCE, QTS or international equivalent)
  • Strong academic record, desirably with a master’s degree in education leadership
  • Experience as a housemistress or housemaster
  • Proven leadership experience, desirably in an outstanding school

 

Desirable

  • Safeguarding trained to Level 3 standards, desirably with a BSA qualification
  • First Aid training qualification through a recognized training organisation
  • Evidence of recent professional development in pastoral leadership

 

Skills and Knowledge

  • Proven ability to inspire and motivate staff, students, and the school community
  • Strong ability to strategically plan, set goals, and monitor progress
  • Proven ability to manage performance, via coaching and mentoring programs
  • Advanced understanding of impactful pedagogy in a high performing school
  • Deep understanding of assessment practices that impact on student learning

 

Communication

  • Excellent interpersonal and communication skills with a variety of audiences
  • Strongly professional presentation skills
