Ashville College is seeking to appoint a full-time, year-round Director of Finance on a permanent basis.

We are looking for an experienced and credible Finance professional who can provide the strategic financial planning and leadership across the College to enable the Governing body to make insightful decisions.

In addition to bringing a forward-thinking approach to lead our Finance team, developing best practice policies and ensuring their compliance across the College, the successful candidate will be an effective communicator at all levels, and able to confidently present financial data to stakeholders.

This role is a member of the Executive Leadership Team and reports directly to the Head, working closely with the Governors, and other members of the Executive Leadership Team and Finance Team.

This is an exciting opportunity for a collaborative, motivated individual to make a tangible impact on the College’s future.

The salary for this role highly competitive, dependent on experience.

Ashville College is a co-educational, independent school for day and boarding pupils aged 2–18. The college, set in Harrogate, North Yorkshire, comprises a pre-school, prep school and senior school with pupil numbers totaling around 870, 170 of whom are in the sixth form and 100 are boarders. The school is a registered charity, administered by Ashville College Trustees.

Ashville College was founded in 1877 as a boarding school for boys by the United Methodist Free Church. Expansion over the decades culminated in a merger with Elmfield College, Harrogate, in the 1930s, by which time Ashville was the largest private school in the north of England.   The most significant development came in 1982 when the school become co-educational.
