Role and Responsibilities
The Early Childhood Coordinator reports to the ES Principal and is responsible for students and staff assigned to the Daycare, PreK2, PreK3 and PreK4 Programs and Staff Care services, as well as the overall management of the EC department ensuring that the programs and activities are in accordance with best practices in Early Childhood development.
The position involves directing and leading staff to ensure the maintenance and improvement of professional standards with respect to the care and supervision of children, that staff contribute positively to create a safe and happy environment for children and each other, and positively promoting the Early Childhood to parents and the community.
Key Responsibilities
● Establish and promote high standards and expectations for students and staff assigned to the EC Department and assist with a smooth transition to kindergarten.
● Maintain a developmentally appropriate practices in line with NAEYC Standards.
● Utilize ITERS-3 and ECERS-3 assessment scales to maintain a high-quality early learning environment.
● Implement the Creative Curriculum program Infants-PK4.
● Plan, organize, implement, coordinate and evaluate the Early Childhood programs. Leadership of this program shall include:
a. Ensuring class size requirements
b. Use of data to identify student and instructional needs
c. Ensuring that the curriculum coordinator develops, along
with the faculty, appropriate standards for the preschool
program.
d. Consistent and regular program evaluation
e. Personnel recruitment and recommendations for selection
when vacancies occur
f. Orientation and assistance for new staff members and for
substitutes
g. Communications among staff
h. Staff development to expand and improve skills
i. Analysis of assessments to improve instruction
j. Resources and personnel scheduling
k. Parental support and training
l. Coordination and close working relationships and with
colleagues
m. Evaluation and selection of instructional materials and
equipment
● Ensure coordination of services and articulation between the early childhood and elementary levels of the instructional program by communicating frequently with the principals, curriculum coordinator and literacy coach.
● Provide and coordinate services to staff to assist them with students who experience difficulty in learning. Coordinate resources with school and community to assist the students, parents and staff.
● Provide parent classes to enhance and extend the school learning experiences of children at home. Plan and coordinate parent support sessions, including strategies, care and nurturing, and proper nutrition.
● Promote the preschool program within the city of Jeddah and online. Responsibilities include:
a. Create and maintain appropriate information about the preschool program on the school website.
b. Develop a social media presentation, along with the advancement department, to highlight the program for current and perspective parents.
c. Establish relationships with other preschool programs within NESA.
d. Create opportunities for new families to visit the school.
e. Script and train staff on tour highlights.
f. Give tours whenever possible.
g. Work in cooperation with advancement to create a promotional video for families.
● Performs other duties as assigned.
Working Conditions
● This role typically works in an office environment.
● May require occasional overtime during month-end or peak periods.
● Ability to work effectively under pressure and meet deadlines.
