This is an outstanding opportunity to assume the position of English and English Literature Teacher (Secondary) at Reigate Grammar International School Kuala Lumpur. This opportunity is pivotal to the successful growth and development of the school in our newly built campus in Kuala Lumpur, Malaysia. We are a fully co-educational all-through school serving Malaysian and International students from EYFS to Sixth Form. Role Overview:

This is an exciting opportunity for an enthusiastic Teacher of English and English Literature to join our growing team. The main responsibilities of the post will include:

  • teaching English and English Literature at GCSE and A Level;
  • teaching lower secondary English;
  • assisting with English Department activities as required;
  • assisting with the administration of the department;
  • working as part of a cohesive departmental team and sharing fully in the work of the department;
  • helping to promote and encourage the study of science at RGISKL.


Qualifications:

Essential:

  • A UK or Internationally recognised teaching qualification (e.g., PGCE, QTS, or equivalent).
  • A bachelor’s degree in English Language, Literature or a related field.


Experience:

Essential:

  • Experience working in a British Secondary School, British International Secondary Schools or with the British curriculum.
  • Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience and be able to demonstrate a high level of subject expertise.
  • Teaching English and English Literature to A-Level.


Skills, Abilities & Knowledge:

  • Good knowledge of the subject/s being taught and a good understanding of GCSE/A-level requirements.         
  • Effective classroom management with an ability to manage the class and resources effectively to create a positive and inclusive learning environment.
  • Good verbal and written communication skills, with the ability to engage and inspire students, as well as collaborate with colleagues, parents, and other stakeholders.
  • Competence in assessing student progress, using data to inform teaching, and providing constructive feedback to support individual learning needs.
  • Flexibility to adapt teaching methods to different learning styles


Co-Curricular Activities:

  • All staff are actively involved in the co-curricular life of the school, and we encourage staff to share their passions with our pupils. Welcome to Reigate Grammar International School Kuala Lumpur (working in partnership with Beaconhouse Malaysia).
