Required from October 2024, or as soon as possible thereafter

Term time, 16 hours per week plus some additional work during busy exam periods which will be taken as time off in lieu

Working Monday – Thursday: 10.00 – 14.00 (some flexibility for the right candidate)

Grade 4

Salary: £22,736 - £23,162 (pro-rata)

 

The successful applicant will primarily provide administrative support to the hard working and friendly exams team to assist with the delivery of our extensive examinations programme, which is made up of both internal and external exams and assessments.

They will be a team player who thrives on working collaboratively. They must be well organised and flexible with a meticulous eye for detail and have good communication skills. They will enjoy using IT and will be at ease using the standard Microsoft Office packages (Excel, Word, Outlook etc.). 

Experience within a college or school environment is desirable but not essential. Previous experience of the examinations system would be an advantage.  A flexible approach to work is needed because extra hours may need to be worked during the busy exam seasons.

Ashton Sixth Form College is the leading provider of 16-18 education in the area. The college is located in Tameside, Greater Manchester and supports around 2,000+ students on A-Level and vocational programmes. The college also offers a number of Adult and Higher Education courses.

Over the past three years, Ashton has been ranked in the top 25% of colleges nationally. The DfE performance tables have also placed Ashton as the top college in the borough for the fourth year running (DfE, 2020).
