John Taylor MAT is delighted to commence the search for an Executive Headteacher to lead the newest, and only ‘all-through’ school in our Trust family. Built from the ground up, we are hugely excited and proud to introduce Rugeley John Taylor to local communities. Offering a ‘gold standard’ curriculum to the youngest learners all the way through to sixth formers, this provision will provide a personalised learning experience empowering and supporting pupils at each stage of their education.

This brand-new school, opening initially with Year 7 in the secondary phase in September 2025, will incorporate many of the features of John Taylor MAT that have become a hallmark of its success: challenging the most able, outstanding quality of teaching, a taught curriculum of high-quality content and skills, and an enrichment offer and pastoral system we believe is second to none.

We are looking for an experienced, inspirational, and adaptable professional to lead the secondary phase initially, but with primary phase curriculum knowledge and understanding. This role requires someone with a unique mix of skills and capabilities, who can lead the school from pre-opening to offering an outstanding educational experience for young people. This is a rare opportunity to take the next step in your leadership career and grow into the role, as the school grows.

You could be ideal for this role if you have:

• Clarity of purpose and vision

• Ability to set an inclusive and stimulating curriculum

• Motivation and drive to set and uphold high standards

• Robust understanding of the principles and practices of secondary and primary education

• Exemplary teaching knowledge and skills

• Financial and budget management skills

• Up to date knowledge of safeguarding requirements

Supported by a forward-thinking Trust Board, Local Governing Body and experienced School Improvement and Central Team professionals, you will play a key role in the completion and evolution of this exciting project. This is an exciting prospect for the right candidate who has

the ideal mix of secondary and primary knowledge, coupled with the leadership qualities and gravitas needed to be successful.

Please see the recruitment pack for more details and the timetable for the appointment.

Completed application forms should be emailed to recruitment@jtmat.co.uk

Only fully completed application forms will be submitted for shortlisting. CVs will not be accepted.
