Whitleigh Community Primary School is seeking a skilled and committed EYFS Teaching Assistant to join our dedicated team. This role involves supporting pupils, including those with special needs, in accessing learning activities and assisting teachers in classroom management.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Aid in the setting up and delivery of learning activities and opportunities
  • Provide support for pupils, ensuring their safety and access to learning activities.
  • Assist in managing pupils and the classroom.
  • Aid in planning and implementing Individual Education/Behaviour Plans and Personal Care programmes.
  • Promote self-esteem, independence, and positive behaviour among pupils.
  • Address conflicts and incidents promptly and effectively.
  • Provide first aid and welfare support.
  • Demonstrate tasks to new starters or less experienced staff members.
  • Assist in handling small amounts of money related to school events.
  • Undertake other duties appropriate to the grade of the post.

Requirements:

  • Full and relevant early years qualifications.
  • Strong numeracy and literacy skills.
  • Understanding of the Early Years Foundation Stage Curriculum.
  • Paediatric first aid is desirable.
