An exciting opportunity has arisen for us to appoint an experienced, highly motivated Financial Operations Manager to join our central team at Hope Sentamu Learning Trust. The post holder will lead in the efficient and effective control and administration of the Trust's finance systems and manage a team of financial operations staff, working closely with the Financial Controller and Chief Financial Officer to contribute to the long-term financial planning and financial health of the Trust.

This role will be based at our Head Office in York (YO30).

Some of the key tasks associated with this role are as follows:

  • Scrutiny and control of the Trust bank account which has a cash flow of £50m+ across 14 schools and the Central Team.
  • Gatekeeping of all expenditure through the Purchase Ledger.
  • Ensuring identification of all income to ensure timely bank reconciliation.
  • Management of the financial relationship with key stakeholders, suppliers and funding organisations.
  • Training of the Central Financial Operations Team and associated Academy staff.

The successful candidate will have an in depth working knowledge of financial systems and a strong background within finance operations, including, but not limited to, substantial experience in finance administration; leadership and management experience; experience in budget preparation, management and monitoring; and experience of computerised management information systems and accounts.
