We are seeking to appoint an enthusiastic and well-motivated person to join our well established food department.

The successful candidate will be a reliable team player who is able to communicate well with staff and students.

Relevant experience and qualifications (Food Safety Certificate) are desirable but training will be provided

 Training will be provided for the right candidate.

Reports to: Head of Food and Nutrition

The role:

The  main purpose of this role will be to support the work of the food department primarily by providing technical support to the students and Food teacher to deliver the food curriculum.

Responsibilities.

 

1.     To assist the food teacher and students during food lessons.  

2.     To prepare displays, ingredients and equipment for lessons.

3.     To assist with whole school events such as open evening.

4.      To maintain the upkeep of the food room, equipment and resources in a serviceable condition.

5.     Under the supervision of the food teacher maintain stock cupboards by raising orders, receiving equipment and materials and purchasing of ingredients for practical lessons.

6.     To carry out administrative tasks for the department as required.

7.     To be responsible for organising the maintenance and repair for any equipment. To be responsible for the annual inventory check for food department equipment.

8.     To carry out the above duties in accordance with Keeping Children Safe in Education documentation.
