About the role

We are currently looking for an experienced Functional Skills Tutor / Teacher who will plan, teach and support our Apprentices to complete their Functional Skills Level 2 qualifications. They will achieve this through delivering classroom and workplace-based sessions as well as through small group, individual and tailored 1-2-1 support. The role might involve UK wide travel.


About you

  • Possession of a teaching qualification (Cert Ed, DET or PGCE) or equivalent
  • A Level 2 qualification in Maths and English or equivalent
  • Have knowledge of Functional Skills National Curriculum requirements and writing lesson plans, developing resources and assessing learners' work
  • Experience in delivering a learner-centred approach curriculum to learners at various levels of learning
  • Experience in supporting learners with additional learning will be advantage
  • The ability to motivate and inspire students to achieve their potential
  • Excellent communication skills and interpersonal skills
  • Proven organisational and administrative skills and an ability to work to deadlines
  • The ability to think creatively and constructively
  • A caring and compassionate persona
  • Relevant experience of the retail industry will be an advantage.
