General Kitchen Assistant – The Grove School
Salary: Scale 1 Point 3 £26,238 Actual pro rata salary £12,919.97
Location: Haringey
Hours: Monday-Friday
(Flexible as the service demands dictate with a ‘normal’ day being 10.00am-2.00pm – 39 weeks per year. There is also an expectation that shifts should be altered to oversee service in the evenings for occasional school events.
Responsible to: Catering Manager & Chef
Contract term: Permanent. 20 hours a week for 39 weeks per year

The Grove School has the opportunity to invite a personable, friendly and confident individual to join our friendly in-house catering team. As a kitchen Assistant, you would be expected to carry out food preparation as well as cleaning the kitchen. You Would Follow strict food hygiene and school's health and safety policy.
The Grove School is a special school for young people with autism. We are a thriving school with a dedicated staff team who work hard to ensure our pupils are supported to achieve their full potential. The successful candidate will also have:
- A good standard of general education
- To be able to communicate.
- Previous experience of working within a school /commercial catering environment and have a good level of cooking and food preparation.
- To assist in the serving and clearing down of all food, beverages and associated utensils as required.
- To cooperate with all catering staff and undertake such duties in the kitchen/service areas as requested to ensure an efficient and effective service is delivered at all times
- To undertake supervised food preparation tasks as required.
