The opportunity

We are looking to appoint a dynamic and enthusiastic Head of Department for Biology to lead a team of staff within the Science department. The successful candidate will be responsible for the day-to-day running of a busy department, for instilling a passion for Biology in students, monitoring and evaluating student achievement, as well as contributing to accomplishing the College’s vision and mission. 

Currently, the Science Department at Doha College consists of 24 full-time teachers supported by 4 full-time science technicians.  Lessons are taught in 22 purpose-built laboratories.  The College follows a balanced science programme at Key Stage 3, in line with the English National Curriculum.  At Key Stage 4, students opt for Edexcel IGCSE Separate Sciences.  At A Level, students opt for Edexcel Physics, Edexcel Chemistry and CIE Biology. At all stages the College achieves excellent academic success. Experience of being fully cognisant with all aspects of an A-Level biology course will be seen as an advantage.

All our classrooms are equipped with interactive smartboards, students receive iPads upon joining the school, whilst teachers receive both an iPad and laptop.
