Role: Head of Commercial Operations

Hours: 37.5 hours per week

Salary: £70,000 to £75,000, based on experience

Reports to: Chief Finance Officer

An exciting opportunity has arisen at Haberdashers' Elstree Schools to Head up Commercial Operations. The role encompasses both strategic and operational activities regarding income generation from our impressive campus and procuring resources at the best price and quality. There is an ambitious plan for growth in both these areas, so the role requires an individual with passion and expertise to deliver change and innovate.

Key Responsibilities

Build on existing commercial lettings relationships to deliver growth and plan the longer-term strategy.

Explore new and different opportunities for commercial relationships that are in keeping with the schools’ values and objectives. 

Establish supplier relationships and ensure contract management of key spend areas, including Catering, Cleaning, Transport & IT. 

Conduct due diligence on Enterprise proposals, assessing viability and associated risks, and provide comprehensive reports for consideration.

What we are looking for:

Proven experience in project management, procurement, commercial operations

MCIPS qualification and 5 years post qualified experience

Strong understanding of the education sector and the charitable objectives of independent schools.

Entrepreneurial mindset with the ability to identify relevant opportunities and develop strategic networks.
