International Community Schools, Abu Dhabi, is looking for a dedicated and enthusiastic Head of Nursery to lead and manage our nursery team, providing exceptional early childhood education. The successful candidate will oversee the nursery's daily operations, ensure high standards of teaching and learning, and foster a safe, nurturing environment that encourages the development of young children.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Leadership and Management:
  • Oversee all nursery operations, including staffing, curriculum planning, and facility management.
  • Lead and mentor nursery staff, promoting a culture of continuous improvement and professional growth.
  • Develop, implement, and review policies and procedures to ensure the nursery meets the highest standards of safety, care, and education.
  • Curriculum Development and Delivery:
  • Design and implement a developmentally appropriate curriculum that aligns with the school's mission and values.
  • Evaluate and update curriculum and learning materials to meet the diverse needs of young learners.
  • Ensure a stimulating, engaging environment that fosters early childhood development in language, numeracy, social skills, and creativity.
  • Quality Assurance and Compliance:
  • Maintain the nursery’s compliance with relevant local regulations and school policies.
  • Monitor and assess the quality of teaching and learning, providing feedback and support to improve nursery standards.
  • Work closely with the school leadership to meet the educational and developmental needs of children effectively.
  • Parental Engagement and Communication:
  • Build strong, trusting relationships with parents and caregivers, keeping them informed of their child’s progress.
  • Address parental concerns with empathy, professionalism, and confidentiality.
  • Organize and lead parent engagement activities, such as workshops and events, to foster a supportive community.
  • Resource Management:
  • Oversee the budget for the nursery department, managing resources efficiently to provide a high-quality learning environment.
  • Ensure the nursery is equipped with safe, high-quality learning materials and facilities.

 

 

Qualifications and Experience:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Early Childhood Education, Child Development, or a related field (Master’s preferred).
  • Minimum of 2 years of experience in early childhood education, with at least 2 years in a leadership role.
  • Knowledge of early years frameworks and curriculum development.
  • Strong understanding of health, safety, and safeguarding standards in early childhood education.

Skills and Competencies:

  • Excellent leadership and organizational skills.
  • Strong interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to engage effectively with children, staff, and parents.
  • Ability to create a safe, inclusive, and nurturing environment for young learners.
  • A commitment to ongoing professional development and a passion for early childhood education.
