The school is fully managed and operated by its founding school in the UK that has been running for more than 130 years in Canterbury, Kent, UK, 2016 in Dubai.

We are proud to be an inclusive school. In addition to that the school will be fully designed to incorporate spaces for STEAM based learning.

The school is located in O West Compound in the heart of 6th of October City. 

We started in September 2022, accepting pupils from FS1 to YR7

The Post 

We are seeking to appoint a well-qualified Primary teacher to join our successful Kent College family of schools in Cairo –Egypt

Job Requirements:

Kent College West Cairo is seeking to appoint a well-qualified, innovative, Teacher of Physical Education to join the family of schools in Cairo –Egypt

He/She will need to be able to work with very young children. He/ She needs to develop games and activities that are relatively simple and easy for their students to understand. The Primary School Physical Education teacher tends to have a greater focus on games and playing rather than regimented exercise and incorporating pupils' interests and learning objectives into physical education classes can be a great help for pupils who are kinesthetic learners. 

The Role:

There is a degree of flexibility in this position according to the candidate’s specialist skills. 

Specific responsibilities will include: 

• Responsibility for the day-to-day organization of the Physical Education teaching programme 

• Organizing House matches, School matches and Sports Day

Organizing the Extra Curricula Activities 

The Department has regular departmental meetings, and all members are encouraged to contribute positively to the policy and development of the Department. A willingness to contribute to the school’s extra-curricular activities programme is essential.

General Duties: 

Carrying out ‘the duties of a schoolteacher’ as set out in the staff contract

Specific Duties: 

The successful applicant for this post will be expected to

  • contribute to the well-being and development of the school including the supervision of pupils. 
  • ensuring that regular assessment of practical and written work takes place, in line with Department policy, including pupil self-assessment, so as to effectively inform teaching and learning. 
  • providing information to the SLT and other colleagues about the progress of pupils in accordance with school policy and as required 
  • enhance the quality of teaching and learning in the Primary School and wider school.
  • sharing resources and good practice, lesson observation, collaborative teaching, mentoring and active participation in continuing professional development; 
  • support the school’s aims and objectives for teaching and learning.

 

Education / Qualifications

- Bachelor's degree

- Valid teaching certification IPGCE/ PGCE

- PhD / master’s degree in education (Desirable)

Experience: 

3-7 years of teaching experience

Teaching and Learning: 

- Confident and innovative classroom teaching. 

- Make accurate and productive use of assessment data with students. 

- Passion for teaching and learning

- Evidence of excellent progress of students at all levels taught. (desirable)

- Good knowledge and application of up-to-date learning technologies. (desirable)
