Warwick Academy is an International Baccalaureate (IB) World School and an accredited Council of International Schools (CIS) member school catering to students from Reception Year through to Year 13. The school offers an Early Years Programme, the International Primary Curriculum (IPC) and UK National Curriculum from Years 1 to 9, the IGCSE in Year 10 & 11 and the IB Diploma Programme, IB Individual Subjects and IB Career-related Programme (using BTEC subjects) in Year 12 & 13. In addition, the school has vibrant Music, Drama, Sport and Community Service programmes and offers a variety of additional co-curriculars.

 

Head of the Secondary School

We are searching for an inspirational Head to lead the next chapter of the Secondary School (Years 7 -13) by growing and improving the Curriculum, Pastoral, and Co-Curricular programmes on offer. The successful applicant will report directly to the Principal, chair the Secondary Management Team, and work closely with the Head of the Primary School and the Board of Governors. In addition, there is the expectation that the Head carries an appropriate teaching load.

Requirements

  • Applicants must have at least 3 years’ experience in a senior leadership role in a Secondary School setting; such as a Deputy Head, Vice Principal, Head of Secondary, or similar.
  • Must hold a suitable honours degree, a Secondary teaching qualification, and be eligible to hold or presently hold a Bermuda Educators Council Teacher’s License.
  • Be able to show recent experience and intimate knowledge of the educational programmes offered at Warwick Academy - the UK National Curriculum, Edexcel & Cambridge IGCSE/GCSEs, the International Baccalaureate programmes, and BTEC courses.
  • The ability to plan strategically, motivate and lead Secondary staff.
  • Knowledge of and experience with management information systems and virtual learning environments in a Secondary School setting.
  • Be able to demonstrate the skills to build positive relationships with students, staff, parents, alumni and the broader Bermuda community.
