Age range: 4-19 Group 5 NoR: 170 OFSTED: Outstanding (July 2024)

White Spire School is a special school in Milton Keynes catering for students aged from 4 to19 with global development delay. As a school, we have carefully and meticulously created a curriculum that stimulates and challenges our young people. The school mission statement is ‘Through learning to independence’. We like to think of ourselves as ‘The White Spire Family’ where we care for and support each other. The heart of the school is driven by the children and preparing them for their next stage of education and life, and to help them to be as independent as possible in whichever role they chose for themselves.

We are seeking a headteacher who:

• Puts the children at the heart of the school
• Champions the school community
• Has the vision and an ability to lead an already outstanding school
• Has wide and recent experience working with children with SEND and their families
• Proven substantial leadership experience
• The skills to lead, motivate and inspire by being a visible leader
• A proven commitment to school through a collaborative approach, including working with other schools, the Governing Body and the Local Authority to support school improvement
• A creative, clear and thoughtful approach to successfully delivering the school’s priorities
• A flexible, pragmatic and positive approach to managing change
