About the Role:

St Faith's School in Cambridge is seeking an exceptional Personal Assistant (PA) and Office Manager to provide efficient, effective, and confidential support to the Headteacher. This is a key role in ensuring the smooth operation of the Head’s office and the school as a whole. You will work closely with pupils, parents/carers, and staff, setting the tone of professionalism within the Head's office.

The ideal candidate will be an experienced administrator with excellent organizational, time management, and IT skills, capable of handling a wide range of tasks. You will manage the Head’s diary, oversee administrative systems, and ensure day-to-day operations run smoothly.

This role offers the chance to make a real impact, providing essential support to the Headteacher, whilst also leading the School Office in a dynamic and varied environment.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Manage the Headteacher's diary, handle correspondence, and act as the first point of contact for the Head.
  • Provide secretarial support, including drafting correspondence, minute-taking, and maintaining the complaints log.
  • Oversee the day-to-day operations of the School Office, ensuring administrative processes are efficient and professional.
  • Manage guest visits, events such as Speech Day and school plays, and oversee communication with parents and other stakeholders.
  • Ensure pupil records are up-to-date and maintained properly.
  • Support with school events, room bookings, and visitor management.
  • Work collaboratively with the Support Staff Leadership Team to foster a positive and efficient school environment.

The Ideal Candidate:

  • A highly organised, proactive, and detail-oriented individual.
  • Strong IT skills, particularly in MS Office (Word, Excel, SharePoint).
  • Experience working in a fast-paced administrative role, preferably within an educational setting.
  • A calm, professional manner, with the ability to multitask and prioritise effectively under pressure.
  • Personable and confident, with the ability to form strong relationships with pupils, staff, and parents.
  • Committed to continuous improvement and professional development.

What We Offer:

  • A supportive, community-based working environment where people genuinely matter.
  • Opportunities for professional development and career growth, with a personal development plan for each member of the team.
  • Regular training and collaboration within the Support Staff Team.
  • A role that allows you to make a meaningful impact on the school’s operations and contribute to the overall success of the school.

Our school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children and young people and the school expects all staff and volunteers to share this commitment. Before appointment to any role in the school, checks including an enhanced DBS check and workplace references will be undertaken in accordance with current statutory guidance.
