Job overview
Park View School is seeking dedicated and enthusiastic Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTAs) to join our supportive and innovative SEN department. If you have experience working with young people, particularly those with Special Educational Needs (SEN), and are passionate about supporting vulnerable students, we would love to hear from you.
Hours: 36 hours per week (8:15am - 4:30pm), 40 weeks per year.
Key Responsibilities:
- Support the SEN department in providing quality education for students with diverse needs.
- Deliver focused literacy and numeracy sessions for small groups, supporting improved learning outcomes.
- Cater for students with English as an Additional Language (EAL) at various stages of language acquisition.
- Support SEND students with a range of needs, including but not limited to, challenging behavior, ADHD, ASD, and dyslexia.
- Work in alignment with the secondary school curriculum to promote student achievement.
Essential Skills and Experience:
- Proven experience in supporting small group literacy and numeracy instruction.
- Understanding of strategies to support EAL and SEND students effectively.
- Knowledge of the secondary school curriculum.
- Strong literacy and numeracy skills.
- Excellent communication skills and a team-oriented approach.
