(Permanent - 32.5 hours per week, term-time plus 5 days)

Salary: NJC Points 17-22 pro-rata - Actual Salary £22,099-£24,092

We are looking to appoint a knowledgeable and multi-skilled Higher Level Teaching Assistant (HLTA) to strengthen our hard-working, reflective and forward thinking SEND Faculty. You will be expected to support pupil progress and help raise standards of achievement for pupils with special educational needs within a mainstream school. If you are an effective team player with a positive and proactive approach to work then we would like to hear from you.

Working within our SEND Faculty, the successful candidate will be expected to provide additional support for SEND pupils across the school in line with the SEND code of practice and school expectations. You must demonstrate high levels of motivation and have the ability to engage, lead and inspire pupils of all ages and abilities and actively complement the work of our teaching staff by taking responsibility for pupils’ learning activities under an agreed system of supervision. Experience in supporting pupils across a range of curriculum subjects and delivering literacy interventions to KS3 and KS4 pupils would be a distinct advantage, as would expertise in EAL. We offer excellent support and CPD, including a powerful, whole school focus on the development of learning and teaching. This is an excellent opportunity for the right person.

Fairfield High School for Girls is a non-selective, non-denominational, 11-16 academy for girls, situated in Droylsden in Manchester. The school, which converted to an academy in 2011, has 981 girls on its roll. 

Fairfield High School is one of the oldest all-girls schools in the country; in was founded in 1796, when Sister Mary Tyrrell opened a small girls' boarding school. In September 2004, as part of the Specialist Schools Programme, the secondary school became a Science College.
