History at Woodlands is a popular and high performing subject with results exceeding national averages. The department is part of the Humanities Faculty, led by an exceptional and experienced subject Leader and is made up of a team of excellent practitioners with a passion for the subject and collaboration. At the heart of the department is the drive to make continuous improvement and the department are committed to using educational research to help accelerate learning experiences for our students.
Key Responsibilities:
- Plan and deliver high quality History lessons that inspire students.
- Assess students’ work and provide feedback to accelerate their progress further
- Communicate with parents to provide supportive guidance to support their child’s learning at home
- Be a form tutor and deliver the tutor and PSHE programme

Woodlands Community College is a mixed, comprehensive, non-denominational secondary school without sixth form situated in Southampton, Hampshire. It is a community state school within the Southampton Education Authority. A secondary school with places for 900 students between the ages of 11-16, currently oversubscribed with 905 students currently on roll.
The school was opened by then-minister for schools David Miliband in 2003.
