THE ROLE:

We are looking to appoint an enthusiastic and well qualified candidate to lead and coordinate personalised and adaptive learning for pupils with SEND, either individually or in groups, to ensure they can access the curriculum.  You will work with class teachers to raise the learning and attainment of pupils with SEND and promote ways to ensure pupils’ independence, self-esteem and social inclusion.  You will assess the needs of pupils and use detailed knowledge and specialist skills to support pupils’ learning across subjects and provide feedback to pupils in relation to progress and achievement.

 

ABOUT YOU:

You will possess the ability to lead effectively within a team environment, with an understanding of roles and responsibilities within SEND and be able to build effective working relationships with all pupils and colleagues.  You will demonstrate excellent behaviour management techniques and have the ability to work with children at all levels regardless of specific individual need and identify learning styles as appropriate.

Smithills School is a mixed, non-selective, non-denominational secondary school situated in Bolton, Lancashire. There are approximately 1200 students at the school, between the ages of 11-16.
