Our Nursery and Pre-Prep Schools in Hampstead are located in two separate Victorian villas, moments around the corner from one another, and provide a natural transition from preschool to Reception (4+). From ages 2 to 7, children are immersed in a fully rounded academic and extra-curricular programme, designed to develop the whole child, and delivered by subject specialists from the very start of their educational journey.

About the Role

North Bridge House Nursery and Pre-Prep School is looking for an experienced, passionate, and supportive SCR Champion to join their team for a fixed-term maternity cover, starting in February 2025, or earlier if necessary. This is a fantastic opportunity for an individual with strong HR experience, especially within an educational setting, to play an integral role in the efficient operation of the school.


Key Responsibilities:

  • Maintain the Single Central Record (SCR) in line with safeguarding regulations.
  • Oversee recruitment processes including document verification, reference checks, and issuing necessary paperwork.
  • Provide administrative support, including managing diaries and taking meeting minutes.
  • Submit payroll-related documents such as absence reports, overtime, and expense claims.
  • Update and maintain the training matrix by assigning appropriate training to staff.
  • Handle day-to-day communication, including responding to emails and phone calls.
  • Greet visitors and ensure correct lanyard issuance.


Ideal Candidate:

  • Experienced in an administrative or HR role (preferably in a school setting).
  • Exceptional attention to detail with a proactive and solution-focused approach.
  • Strong written and verbal communication skills.
  • Must have a DBS check on the update service or be willing to obtain a new one.
  • Right to work in the UK.

What We Offer:

  • Competitive salary (£30,000 to £32,000 per annum, depending on experience).

  • Working hours: 8:00 AM to 5:00 PM during school days; 9:00 AM to 4:00 PM during school holidays.
