The successful candidate will assist with the planning of teaching and learning in the assigned classrooms under the mentorship/supervision of the class teacher, assist in authentic assessment of students, including the maintenance of records to track student progress. Such information is to be communicated sensitively, effectively and honestly with parents and guardians. Whilst this is the responsibility of the class teacher, the Teaching Assistants may be called to participate to provide support. S/He will also be required to contribute towards and be an active participant in the extra-curricular part of the school programme and student life; enrichment, student field-trips, whole school events and initiatives, residential week-end duties as well as to contribute towards building a student culture of self-regulation and self-efficacy adhering to the values of the academy and the student code of conduct.
The successful candidate should have at least 1 year experience working with lower primary-aged children, preferably in an international curriculum. A diploma in Education and registered by Kenya Teacher Service Commission (TSC). S/he must be patient, compassionate approach with a passion for fostering student confidence and achievement. Must posses the ability to work collaboratively with the student support team and teachers to meet shared goals. Special Educational Needs (SEN) qualifications and experience is desirable.
In addition to the above qualifications , He/She must be highly collaborative, creative, adaptable, empathetic, reflective and posses strong communication skill
