Job overview

We know that being a teenager today is not always easy and things don't always go to plan. At Hylands School we work hard to ensure children are supported to “get things right” and support them when it doesn't. In support of our behaviour strategy, we are looking for a firm but compassionate person to lead our inclusion hub. Our hub is a place where children reflect and have time away from their main timetable to reset their behaviour with the support and guidance of the hub manager. Due to the recent promotion of our hub manager into a teaching role, this opportunity presents an ideal role for those considering teaching or working with children.

The Inclusion Hub Manager will manage the day-to-day running of the Inclusion Hub to ensure students' continuation of learning whilst needing time out from their regular timetable.

The role will involve working closely with the Leadership and Pastoral Team to support the impact of interventions as well as the progress of our students. Working with young people in a pastoral and behavioural setting to improve young people's chances of accessing their education and appropriate interventions so that all learners can succeed.

The school is committed to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of young people and their achievements both inside and outside school. The post requires enhanced DBS clearance, medical checks and satisfactory references.

The school is committed to equality of opportunity. We welcome applications from all suitable candidates, regardless of any protected characteristic for example race, gender, sexual orientation, disability or age. All applications are treated on merit. This includes applications from individuals wishing to work full time, part-time or on a flexible basis.
