The Role
As the IT Manager, you will be responsible, along with the support of the IT Technician, for developing and implementing the technical strategy for information technology equipment and services to meet the School’s needs. You will have management responsibility for the IT Technician and report directly to the Director of Finance & Resources.
Working alongside the Digital Learning Teacher, the IT Manager will play a key role in the School’s ongoing transformation to Digital Learning and in maintaining an IT system that supports the School’s needs.
In this role, you will:
- Provide technical leadership, advising the School on the most effective approach to meetings its strategic goals with the use of IT
- Manage the School’s IT network, systems, and services, maintaining confidentiality, integrity and availability
- Develop and improve the School’s systems to maintain high standards and ensure they remain up to date, including servers, hardware, operating systems, network infrastructure and end-user applications
- Oversee and monitor the School’s backup systems and IT disaster recovery planning
- Lead the management of the IT ticket system to ensure that appropriately prioritised and timely support is provided to internal and external users
- Line manage the IT Technician and support with training and development
- Liaise with third-party contractors and engineers to ensure remedial and improvement works are carried out to a high standard, in accordance with legislation, regulations and best practice and ensuring value for money
