Job overview

Riverside International School, a leading British International School in Prague, is seeking a qualified and passionate Junior High Science teacher to focus on teaching students in Key Stage 3 (Years 7-9). While experience teaching IGCSE Coordinated Science, or Design and Technology would be an advantage, it is not a requirement for the role.

With 720 students aged 3–18, Riverside is recognised for its academic excellence, high student achievement, and dedication to student leadership and voice. The school follows the UK National Curriculum, IGCSE, and IB Diploma programmes, offering an exceptional learning environment that inspires both students and staff.

As a not-for-profit institution, Riverside reinvests in its future development, ensuring outstanding facilities and resources. High-quality teaching and learning are complemented by the Skills for Life Programme, which promotes personal growth, well-being, and community development.

We are looking for well-qualified and experienced staff who are enthusiastic about working in a multi-faith, multicultural environment and supportive of the school’s Christian ethos, which welcomes families of all faiths and none. Riverside's strong focus on academic progress, combined with extensive extra-curricular opportunities, makes it an exceptional place to work.

Teachers are expected to:

  • Support the school’s Core Principles and Strategic Values of Challenge, Community, and Care.
  • Serve as role models of character and integrity.

This is a full-time position, commencing on 21 August 2025.

About Riverside International School - Junior High

Riverside International School (Riverside) is an international school in Prague, serving approximately 720 students from 60 nationalities. Both independent and non-profit, it is a day school offering students aged 3–18 an international approach to education in the English language. The school opened in 1994, and its curriculum is based on the British National Curriculum, with the Senior High offering IGCSEs and the International Baccalaureate (IB) Diploma Programme. Riverside celebrated its 30th year of operation in 2024.

Located on four sites (a few kilometres apart), Riverside initially opened in the Sedlec region of Prague. From this site, the Early Years, Junior High, and Senior High Schools separated and opened in their own buildings. There is some overlap between the Junior and Senior High Schools, which are located a short distance from each other.

The Junior High School, which serves around 170 students in Years 7 through 9, is conveniently located within 300 metres of the Senior High School, with whom it shares some staff. Both schools are situated in the desirable area of Prague 6, easily accessible by public transportation, being next to the tram and metro lines. Numerous restaurants, shopping centres, and services are within walking distance, making it a well-situated and accessible educational institution.
