PRISM Independent School is seeking a passionate Key Stage 3 Tutor to play a pivotal role in delivering outstanding education and enrichment to students aged 11-19 with Social, Emotional, and Mental Health (SEMH) needs, Mild Learning Disabilities, and behavioural challenges.

This is an exciting opportunity to join a dedicated team focused on providing a robust and engaging curriculum while supporting the personal and academic growth of our students.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Teaching & Curriculum Delivery:
  • Deliver Key Stage 3 projects to ensure robust induction and assessment processes.
  • Plan and deliver lessons and enrichment activities aligned with PRISM’s strategic goals.
  • Prepare intervention programs and create themed work (e.g., Drug Awareness week).
  • Achieve a minimum of 75% accreditation success.
  • Supervision & Management:
  • Manage and guide a team of support staff.
  • Supervise student placements and volunteers.
  • Ensure staff CPD needs are met.
  • Quality Assurance:
  • Coordinate and monitor quality assurance of qualifications.
  • Maintain up-to-date pupil folders and ensure compliance with PRISM policies.
  • Evaluate teaching standards via observation schedules and action plans.
  • Safeguarding & Health and Safety:
  • Adhere to safeguarding policies and procedures.
  • Oversee risk assessments for activities and facilities.
  • Manage areas such as learning spaces, kitchen, and outdoor areas.
  • Partnership & Outreach:
  • Build and maintain relationships with parents, carers, and partner agencies.
  • Promote PRISM within the community and district-wide schools.
  • Data & Reporting:
  • Maintain and analyse progress data to support pupil development.
  • Produce reports against set targets for the Senior Leadership Team.

What We’re Looking For:

  • A motivated and self-organized individual with a passion for working with vulnerable young people.
  • Experience in teaching, curriculum development, and behaviour management.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.
  • Ability to build positive relationships with students, staff, and external partners.
  • Strong knowledge of safeguarding and health and safety procedures.
