Birchfield School is a thriving rural Preparatory and Senior School for boys and girls aged 4 to 16, with outstanding facilities and educational outcomes for its pupils. In an exciting new development, Birchfield has recently extended its senior school provision to 16 with the first Year 9 class joining in 2023. The latest ISI inspection in November 2021 judged the school as 'Excellent' in all categories and noted that pupils 'make excellent progress' and 'achieve highly in all areas'. An all-round curriculum, small class sizes and specialist teachers ensure that pupils have 'extremely positive attitudes to learning', are 'excellent communicators' and are 'highly disciplined'. Birchfield has a reputation for excellence over 85 years and celebrates participation in sport, music, art and drama to supplement academic development. Healthy lifestyles are encouraged through learning in the outdoors and children are supported emotionally and pastorally to grow as confident and articulate individuals.
