St Columba’s are looking to appoint an able, highly motivated, enthusiastic and innovative Learning Support Assistant (LSA) to join our supportive, passionate and dedicated team of professionals and support the learning needs of students in St Columba’s.

We are therefore looking for candidates who are committed to securing high standards and raising academic attainment for all students with special educational needs.
The main responsibilities of the role will be to support those students with SEN needs across the school. The role will include supporting students in the mainstream classroom and Specialist Resource Provisions and working with the Leading Learning Supports Assistants under the direction of the SENDCo and Specialist Provision Leader.
Applications are invited from those who already have an understanding of special educational needs and how they impact on the learning and progress of young people or can demonstrate a willingness to undertake professional development in this area. Previous experience of supporting secondary aged students with SEN needs would be desirable but is not essential.
You must also have good literacy and numeracy skills and be committed and reliable, with excellent communication skills along with a calm, patient and empathetic nature.

St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School is a mainstream, Catholic secondary school in Bexleyheath, Kent. This state academy caters to boys aged 11 to 16 and has approximately 800 students.
St Columba’s Catholic Boys’ School was founded on 7th May 1973. The lower and upper schools were combined in June 1990. In 2005, £5 million was spent on building the new John Paul II teaching block, which included a new sports hall. Since September 2006, the school has had specialist status in performing and visual arts. It has its own theatre and has achieved the Artsmark Gold award.
