Pinc College is seeking to appoint a Learning Support for 4 days per week to support our Aston Hall campus in Birmingham. Our Learning Support are a valuable and vital part of the team, a unique position within the organisation and key to student progress and wellbeing.

Job Type: Permanent

4 days per week 09.00h-15.00h.

Actual Salary for 4 days per week: £16,974.72 per year, term-time only (38 weeks)

The role

  • Undertake a specialist role using Universal Support Strategies, resources and equipment to meet the student outcomes, differentiating tasks as appropriate for individuals or groups of students with additional needs.
  • Attend all scheduled meeting, briefings and CPD events.
  • Demonstrate and model high expectations for Pinc values, progress and, employability behaviours.
  • In collaboration with teachers and Regional SEND Leads, support individuals and small groups of students throughout the day to achieve their ILP outcomes and session goals.
  • Understand all behaviour is communication and seek to understand causal factors, using communication basics guidance. (See communication guidance later in the handbook)
  • Dynamic evaluation of students’ responses throughout learning activities, determine what each student can achieve unaided and the point of intervention for the provision of appropriate strategies for learning, as needed.
  • Be aware of learner’s individual needs through student profiles, aspirations, targets, referrals, reports and EHC plans. Taking responsibility for keeping Databridge records up to date.
  • Ensure that students’ Health & Safety is maintained in, around and beyond the campus. Support educational tasks including supervised use of subject specific tools, equipment and learning materials.
  • Help to prepare and maintain campus resources (including control of stock) so that they are readily available for use. Take part in campus housekeeping before and after the sessions.
  • Liaise with and report any concerns or incidents/disclosures immediately to Campus Lead, ensuring effective communication concerning the maintenance of Students’ wellbeing. Keep Databridge updated by adding or updating an existing event log.
  • Take part in creative activities alongside students to model behaviour for learning, employability and inspire progress.
  • In collaboration with the campus team, document learner work/progress digitally- share via our Twitter and Instagram accounts to celebrate success and progress.

Experience:

  • Supported Learning: 1 year (required)

Licence/Certification:

  • Teaching Assistant Level 2 or above qualification (required)

You will be part of a team who educate, safeguard and support neurodiverse students, (16 – 25 year olds).
