The Role:

We are looking for an enthusiastic and committed Learning Zone Coordinator to coordinate and oversee all aspects of our Learning Zones at our Chadwell Heath and Ilford campuses. This post reports to the Senior Curriculum Manager for Supported Learning.

Key Responsibilities:

The Learning Zone is a one stop shop for learners who require additional learning support, with both open drop-in support sessions and designated workshops for learners. The Learning Zones provide support for those with SEND needs, whether 16-18 or adult. This role includes close liaison with SL funding administrator regarding timely completion of information needed for ASF funding, meeting college deadlines.  The Learning Zone Coordinator is also responsible for leading on the roll out of assistive technology for use in class, in exams or outside of college. This will involve providing training for staff and students about its benefits and how to effectively use it to support with greater independence.

You will coordinate the Supported Learning Coaches and Learning Support Assistants to ensure full staff coverage of sessions and workshops as well as the timely completion of SL documents. You will also be responsible for marketing and promoting the Learning Zones throughout the year during open days, enrolment and induction days.

Who You Are:

·        Possession of a Degree or comparable qualification;

·        Possession of a teaching qualification and a qualification in Literacy / numeracy / Dyslexia / LDD or willingness to obtain one (DESIRABLE)

·        Understanding and experience of supporting learners with a range of additional support needs, learning difficulties and/or disabilities;

·        Experience of coordinating the delivery of Literacy and Numeracy support;

·        Experience of using and providing support with Assistive Technology

·        Excellent interpersonal skills, in particular the ability to work effectively with staff, learners, parents and support staff.
