Level 3 Teaching Assistant

Type: Permanent

Hours: 37.5 hours per week, 45.4 weeks

Days working: Monday – Friday, 8.30am – 4.30pm

Salary: £21,984 - £22,701 per annum + benefits

We have a fantastic opportunity for a Level 3 Teaching Assistant (job title is learning support assistant in college) to join our Royal College team in the new academic year!

You will work with our amazing students in college, aged between 19-25, and be an essential part of the team assisting the class teacher and wider team in delivering lessons and supporting students.

You will be part of our young people’s learning journey creating a safe and supported environment for them to flourish in their education and equipping them with lifelong learning skills.

As an active member of the team, you can expect to…

  • Work as part of a team to support the teaching and learning activities of all learners who have severe and complex educational needs
  • Liaise with the class teacher to ensure the Keyworker role is being implemented effectively through our team of Learning Support Assistants/TA’s
  • To be a key worker for one or more learners in the class facilitating the documentation of assessment/progress and maintaining communication information between college and residence and play in a central role in managing communication to students’ families
  • Work towards the College KPI’s to ensure we are striving to be an outstanding provider to young people with SEND

What you need to do the role…

  • Level 3 Teaching Assistant certification
  • Ability to contribute, follow and evaluate educational programmes set by the teacher
  • Ability to co-ordinate, supervise and support staff activities
  • Experience working within a SEND educational setting preferably supporting young people between 19-25.
  • Excellent communication and written skills
  • Energetic and enthusiastic about SEND education and making a difference to the lives of our young people
  • Enhanced DBS check, references and occupational health checks
  • Desire for both personal and professional development
  • Meet the intrinsic physical demands of the role including moving and handling, operating hoists, and personal care – full training provided
