Position Overview:

 

We are seeking a passionate and innovative teacher to lead our STEAM and robotics programs, with a focus on engineering and technology. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in these fields and a commitment to fostering a dynamic learning environment. This role includes managing our current FRC program and potentially extending our program to other STEAM-related competitions and programs.

 

Key Responsibilities:

 

•      Develop and deliver engaging STEAM and robotics curriculum for middle school students.

•      Lead and manage the existing FRC program while exploring potential extensions to our robotics offerings and other STEAM-related programs and competitions.

•      Foster a collaborative and creative classroom environment.

•      Organize and oversee robotics competitions and events.

•      Collaborate with other faculty to integrate technology and engineering concepts across subjects.

•      Mentor and support students in their individual and team projects.

•      Stay current with industry trends and advancements in technology and robotics.

•      Continuously improve pedagogical practices by engaging in professional development and reflective teaching, seeking feedback from peers, and implementing innovative instructional strategies.

Requirements:

•      Bachelor's degree in Education, Engineering, Robotics, Computer Science, or a related field.

•      Teaching certification or equivalent experience in a middle school setting.

•      Proven experience in robotics programs (preferably FRC) and engineering principles.

•      Strong knowledge of programming languages (e.g., Python, C++, Java) and robotics platforms.

•      Excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

•      Ability to inspire and engage students in STEAM subjects.

•      Experience with project-based learning and hands-on activities.

•      Strong organizational skills and ability to manage multiple projects simultaneously.

•      Commitment to professional development and continuous learning in the field of robotics and technology.

Preferred Qualifications:

•      Master’s degree in a relevant field.

•      Experience in curriculum development and instructional design.

•      Previous experience in a leadership role within educational settings.

•      Familiarity with educational technology and software tools.

 

Job Requirements:

 

1.            Bachelor's degree in related field required, advanced degree(s) preferred.

2.            At least 2 years of relevant experience in working with adolescents.

3.            Expertise in and a passion for your subject and a genuine interest in working with teenagers.

4.            Excellent communication skills, the ability to take the initiative and the flexibility to deal with change.

5.            Enthusiasm, energy, creativity and the willingness to take risks.

 

Preferred but not essential Requirements:

 

1.            Experience of working in an International School.

2.            Experience with second language learners.
