Overview of the Role

This role is in our new Secondary School, scheduled to open for Years 7-9 in August 2025, on a purpose build campus. We already have a small but thriving Primary School.

This is a unique opportunity for an experienced and enthusiastic Individuals and Societies teacher to establish and shape a new MYP Individuals and Societies programme. The successful candidate will be instrumental in building strong foundations for mathematical learning in our growing secondary school. 

Our new Senior School campus has been carefully designed to support modern teaching and learning approaches, featuring specialist facilities for sciences, arts, and technology. The physical environment will reflect our commitment to providing an exceptional educational experience that prepares students for global success while maintaining strong connections to Vietnamese culture and values.

Professional qualifications

• Teaching qualification 

• Bachelor's degree in related field

• IB MYP Category 1 training (preferred)

 

Professional experience: 

• Minimum of 2 years teaching experience in Individuals and Societies at secondary level 

• Experience with or strong understanding of IB MYP Individuals and Societies

• Experience in curriculum development and design 

 

Duties & responsibilities:

Teaching & Learning: 

• Teach MYP Individuals and Societies across grades 7-9 

• Create engaging, inquiry-based learning experiences 

• Differentiate instruction to meet diverse learning needs 

• Assess and report on student progress using MYP criteria 

• Integrate technology effectively in Individuals and Societies instruction 

  

Programme Development: 

• Establish and document the MYP Individuals and Societies curriculum for Years 7-9 

• Develop course outlines, unit plans, and resources 

• Create assessment tasks and rubrics aligned with MYP criteria 

• Work with other subject teachers to develop interdisciplinary opportunities 

• Manage Individuals and Societies resources and budget 

  

Additional Responsibilities: 

• Offer at least one extra-curricular activity 

• Contribute to the school's pastoral care programme by acting as a form tutor 

• Participate in whole-school events and duties 

• Maintain effective communication with parents 

• Engage in continuous professional development 

  

Safeguarding: 

• Understand and implement the school's safeguarding policies 

• Complete required safeguarding training 

• Report any concerns to the designated safeguarding lead
