Job overview
Occupational Therapist – Band 6 dependant on experience
Independent Specialist School has a vacancy for an Occupational Therapist
Salary: Undershaw Therapy Bands £36,454 - £43,897)
We are looking for an Occupational Therapist (Band 6) to join our existing team at Undershaw Specialist School in Hindhead. We are a non-maintained independent specialist school with places funded by our Local Authorities. Our school offers provision for children with mild to moderate learning difficulties such as ASD (high functioning). We provide an education for those who might not thrive in a mainstream setting but who equally would not be suited to attending a specialist SEN school - we offer an alternative which sits in the niche just between the two.
We are looking for an experienced Occupational Therapist who has proven experience of working with SEND. Ideally you will have previous school experience and have essential knowledge of relevant procedures and legal frameworks. You will use excellent clinical reasoning skills to make professional judgements and decisions based on assessment findings to support the work of the education and SEND teams.
You will work with the SEND, Pastoral and Education teams to provide integrated and specialist programmes and will monitor their effectiveness. As part of the therapy team you will lead school wide CPD training on therapeutic practise and will fully immerse yourself in school life. We invest significantly in staff professional development so Undershaw is definitely an environment where colleagues will learn.
Undershaw can offer you:
· The opportunity to be part of a committed team in a “Good school”
· SEN allowance
· Teachers Pension Scheme
· Additional support and training to be the best you can be
· A beautiful school environment based in the Surrey Hills
Closing date: 19th August 2024
