Job overview

Birchfield School is an independent preparatory school for boys and girls aged 4 to 15, situated in a beautiful rural setting. As a proud member of IAPS and ISA, we are currently expanding our senior school provision to accommodate pupils up to the age of 16, with our inaugural Year 10 class having started in September 2024.

We are looking to appoint a dedicated Office Administrator who will take on both secretarial and administrative duties. This role is central to the smooth running of the school and plays a key role in maintaining effective communication within the Birchfield community, including parents, pupils, and staff.

As the main point of contact for all communications—both internal and external—within our busy school office, the Office Administrator will work closely with the Headmistress to provide professional, confidential support. It is essential that the successful candidate is aligned with the school’s values and is committed to upholding the standards of our thriving school community.

This is a wonderful opportunity for an individual who thrives in a dynamic and collaborative environment, and is passionate about contributing to the day-to-day success of Birchfield School.

Full details of the post and application form are available on the school web page.

An all-round curriculum, small class sizes and specialist teachers ensure that pupils have 'extremely positive attitudes to learning', are 'excellent communicators' and are 'highly disciplined'. Birchfield has a reputation for excellence over 85 years and celebrates participation in sport, music, art and drama to supplement academic development. Healthy lifestyles are encouraged through learning in the outdoors and children are supported emotionally and pastorally to grow as confident and articulate individuals.
