About St Laurence School
St Laurence School
Bradford on Avon
St Laurence is an 11-18 co-educational comprehensive Church academy situated in the market town of Bradford on Avon. The school dates back to 1980 when Fitzmaurice Grammar School merged with Trinity Secondary Modern but preserves its longer-standing heritage through the work of two foundations (Diocese of Salisbury, Fitzmaurice Educational Trust) which are represented on the Governing Body. St Laurence has a strong reputation with a great emphasis placed on social, moral and spiritual development, as well as academic. We have approximately 1420 students on roll with over 250 in our sixth form.
We provide a huge range of extracurricular activities and late buses are provided to encourage students to stay on after school. We are proud of our facilities and the level of expertise our staff display. We have an ongoing programme of investment in buildings and facilities.
Our students come from a variety of social backgrounds and encompass a wide variety of abilities. Relationships with our parents are good and we have a committed PTA known as the SLSA (St Laurence School Association). The local community regards the School highly and gives us considerable support. In turn, the School provides venues and facilities for many community activities and events. Our exam results are good. Student attainment is well above the national average with positive Progress Scores year on year. Our Ofsted in December 2022 deemed us Good and our SIAMS inspection in March 2022 graded us as Excellent in all Areas.
