Job Title: Pastoral Assistant
Location: Bankside School, Worcester
Salary: £22,000 per annum
Hours: 37.5 hours per week; Monday to Friday 8:30am - 4:00pm
Contract: Permanent, Term Time only

As part of our continued growth, we now have a fantastic opportunity for a Pastoral Assistant to join our close-knit team at Bankside School, part of Options Autism.
About the role
The Pastoral Assistant will be expected to work closely with the school's teachers, support staff and parents to provide the best possible care for the students.
Responsibilities include:
- To manage pupils’ behaviour, delivering high quality care and support for emotionally vulnerable pupils educated at Bankside School.
- To practice with a high degree of competence, with the aim of reducing barriers to education and independent social interaction, leading to all pupils achieving their potential.
- To co-ordinate, all services in school to provide integrated provision for pupils.
- To work with specific pupils and develop their resilience and skills within lessons and around the site to improve their engagement in their own learning.
- Provide “front-line” intervention support during the school day to respond to and minimise incidents arising from pupil behaviour, provide initial counselling and guidance and support to enable pupils to return to lessons
- Deployment, support and supervision of the Pastoral intervention assistants during the day in conjunction with the Head of Education and Behaviour and Welfare lead.
Desirable: previous experience of working in a SEN setting

Bankside School is an independent specialist school near Hanley Castle, Worcester. Our new specialist school will cater for students aged 11-18 years old with Autism, Complex needs and learning disabilities and has the capacity for c60 students.

We are Options Autism, part of Outcomes First Group, certified Great Place to Work for the past 2 years running and leaders within education and care. For over 16 years we’ve been providing specialist care for adults with autism, learning disabilities and complex needs.
Our Post 16 college will be an independent specialist college, providing day and residential programmes to students aged 18-25 years with autism, complex needs and learning disabilities offering vocational training. Based in 30 acres of beautiful surroundings, the college will accommodate 30 learners and will have a personalised approach for the students. The college will be based close to one of our residential services, providing the opportunity to offer a package of support which includes residential education through utilising the available services across the group; thus ensuring the best possible outcomes for each individual.
