Job overview

As a Pastoral Manager, you will play a crucial role in promoting the well-being and personal development of our students. You will provide one-on-one support, manage behaviour, and implement pastoral care programs that encourage positive student outcomes. Your responsibilities will include:

  • Offering guidance and support to students with emotional, social, and behavioural needs
  • Developing and implementing individualised support plans
  • Working with parents, carers, and external agencies to provide comprehensive support.
  •  Promoting positive behaviour and resolving conflicts.
  • Monitoring attendance and addressing punctuality and truancy issues.
  • Leading assemblies, workshops, and activities focused on well-being and personal development.
  • Acting as a designated safeguarding lead, ensuring all policies and procedures are followed.

Collaborating with teachers, support staff, and the Senior Leadership Team to identify and address student needs.

The successful candidate will demonstrate prior experience in a similar role, the ability to work flexibly, prioritise their workload, remain calm under pressure, and maintain a professional, friendly demeanour always. Chantry Academy is an Active Learning Trust secondary school situated in Ipswich, Suffolk. There are approximately 900 pupils at the school between the ages of 11-16.
