Al Maharat Private School is seeking a passionate, dedicated, and qualified PE Teacher to foster a love for physical activity and healthy living in our students. The successful candidate will deliver dynamic and engaging PE lessons that encourage physical development, teamwork, and discipline, in line with the school's commitment to holistic education.

The PE Teacher will be responsible for creating a safe and inclusive environment where all students feel motivated to participate and achieve their personal best. This role requires a proactive and energetic individual who can promote lifelong physical fitness and well-being.

Key Responsibilities:

  • Design, implement, and evaluate a comprehensive physical education curriculum for students from various grade levels (Primary to Secondary).
  • Plan and lead engaging lessons that cater to the physical, cognitive, and emotional development of students.
  • Utilize diverse teaching methods to address students’ varying needs and abilities, ensuring all students are challenged and supported.
  • Incorporate health education topics such as nutrition, wellness, and fitness in lessons.
  • Organize and lead school-wide sports events, tournaments, and physical activity programs that foster school spirit and encourage participation.
  • Coordinate with external organizations to arrange inter-school competitions and events.
  • Promote a balanced participation between recreational activities and competitive sports.
  • Monitor and ensure the safety of students during physical activities, adhering to best practices and safety regulations.
  • Conduct risk assessments for PE classes and sporting events, ensuring equipment and facilities are maintained to a high standard.
  • Instill in students the importance of good sportsmanship, teamwork, and discipline.
  • Assess students' physical abilities and progress through both formative and summative assessments.
  • Provide constructive feedback to students, focusing on improvement areas and celebrating achievements.
  • Maintain accurate records of student participation, progress, and performance, and prepare reports for parents and school management.
  • Work closely with other teachers and staff to ensure PE is integrated into the broader school curriculum and supports the overall educational goals of the school.
  • Communicate effectively with parents regarding their child's performance and participation in PE activities.
  • Participate in staff meetings, school committees, and professional development opportunities.
  • Lead or assist in the organization and coaching of after-school sports clubs or teams.
  • Encourage students to participate in extracurricular physical activities and school sports teams.

Qualifications & Experience:

  • Education: Bachelor’s degree in Physical Education, Sports Science, or a related field.
  • Certification: Teaching certification and relevant qualifications (preferred).
  • Experience: Minimum of 2 years of teaching experience in a PE role, preferably in an international school setting.
  • Skills:
  • Strong knowledge of sports, physical education techniques, and health & wellness.
  • Excellent classroom management and organizational skills.
  • Ability to engage and inspire students of different ages and skill levels.
  • First Aid/CPR certification (preferred).
