The ability to offer another subject e.g. TOK, and/or support students in CAS or Extended Essay will be a significant advantage, as will experience of teaching pupils whose first language is not English. For a suitably qualified and interested candidate, there may be an opportunity to combine this teaching role with other positions of responsibility, such as Pastoral or Subject leads, Duke of Edinburgh and the Expeditions programme. All ISS teachers will be expected to play a full role in the school’s co-curricular and pastoral programmes, with a suitably balanced allocation of tutor time, after school activities and supervision duties.
Interested applicants should read the job description closely and explore the school’s website for further details on our innovative campus.

International Sharing School - Taguspark started 5 years ago as a family owned and managed institution, after the family having owned an operated International Sharing School - Madeira for 15 years.
ISS is the only international school in Portugal that welcomes students from 4 months-old all the way up to 18 years-old. As an International Baccalaureate Continuum World School, our students follow a curriculum that is academically challenging but rewarding, flexible and student-led. At ISS, we focus on developing intercultural understanding and mutual respect, and besides the valuable academic preparation, we believe the IB curriculum is the framework which allows our team to go above and beyond in teaching the soft skills needed to face an increasing globalised world. Throughout all the IB programmes we offer, our students graduate from ISS equipped with a qualification that is recognised and highly valued by the best universities around the world, as well as the personal and social skills to be leaders.
ISS develops new ways of working and learning and has developed its own pedagogical framework, which largely differs from any international school. All our team is dedicated to providing a unique and unforgettable educational experience for all the learning community: students, parents, and teachers. Our facilities have been redesigned to create a learning environment that motivates the students to have fun while learning and keeping the community engaged in all activities, ensuring that all academic targets are hit throughout the 3 IB programs. The IB curriculum delivery has been developed bearing in mind the 3 core values of the school: Multiculture, Care, and Hospitality.
Our facilities are unique, as they are part of the tools used to efficiently deliver the academic programs. The school has been redesigned by Rosan Bosch according to the vision and values of this institution, in a complex project that involved designers, architects, engineers, teachers, psychologists and other educational specialists. The sharing spirit of the school encourages the community to work in shared spaces, creating hubs for individual working, group working, lounging and relaxed working areas, formal lecture style learning areas and many small focus pods spread-out around the school. We believe embracing the different preference on working styles of each student enhances the quality of the work they develop, and giving students a comfortable and exciting working environment improves their overall happiness and wellbeing. ISS students and staff are characterised as happy and motivated members of a learning community, and our facilities play a large role in this. More than having a student based curriculum, we have a student based school, organically designed to meet our students’ needs.
Academic rigour and excellence in all subjects is at the center of the project, and works side by side with the ethos and concept of the school.
At ISS, we believe in Learning Through Sharing.
