Job role

An exciting opportunity has become available at our school. The appointed person will promote positive relationships, encourage reflection and develop supportive strategies to reduce behaviour of concern. 


You will work with and provide support for SEMH pupils having special or particular needs, in accordance with the child’s EHCP where appropriate and/or with groups of children as directed. The role will include providing support across a range of child-centred activities to promote child development, readiness for learning and positive behaviour whilst incorporating trauma-informed, Attachment and Autism awareness.


Key responsibilities include:

• Working closely with the Therapy team, Senco and Assistant Head of Behaviour to support the needs of pupils to be ready for learning and maximise their progress.

• Support children with their positive behaviour and emotional regulation.

• Identify issues of concern regarding children’s behaviour and provide feedback and analysis to the wider team.


Essential Experience

• Experience in establishing positive relationships with pupils

• Experience working with special educational needs particularly, emotional, social and mental health behavioural difficulties.

• Ability to use language and other communication skills that children can understand and relate to including PACE language that connects.
