Magdalen Court School provides education for approximately 110 pupils with special educational needs. The focus for the school is to support pupils with high levels of anxiety and specific learning difficulties including autism.

Role: Premises Assistant

Salary: £17,804 (actual annual salary)

Hours: 25 hours per week (Monday to Friday 1pm – 6pm)

Appointment Type: Part-time all year round

Contract type: Permanent

Reporting to: Business Manager


Job Purpose including main duties and responsibilities:

At the direction of the School Business Manager, to assist with the provision of high quality, cost-effective maintenance, security, Health & Safety and cleanliness of the school premises and grounds, ensuring that staff, pupils and visitors have a clean, safe and well-maintained environment. Whilst the post holder is expected to carry out ‘hands on’ maintenance duties, there will also be some administration within this role, such as Health & Safety policies, risk assessments and related site documentation through OSHENS.

It is expected that the post holder will be on site for 25 hours per week with an expectation that leave will be taken during the school holidays in consultation with the School Business Manager.
