Primary Mentor

Position Summary:

The Primary Mentor is responsible for fostering a dynamic and innovative learning environment that inspires and empowers students. This role involves embracing an innovative approach to curriculum design and pedagogy while adapting teaching methods to meet the diverse needs, abilities, and interests of each child. The Primary Mentor will work collaboratively with colleagues, support staff, and parents to enhance student learning and well-being, ensuring alignment with the National Curriculum and the school's ethos.

Core Responsibilities:

• Embrace an innovative approach to curriculum and pedagogy, applying updated best practices in all areas of education.
• Model a comprehensive understanding of primary curriculum subjects, tailoring learning to meet each child’s needs.
• Create and develop engaging learning opportunities across all curriculum areas.
• Foster a positive and inclusive learning environment that supports high expectations and a love of learning.
• Collaborate with colleagues and support staff to develop best practices and support all students effectively.
• Communicate regularly with parents regarding student learning, mindset, and well-being.
• Uphold the commitment to safeguarding and promoting the welfare of children.

Qualifications and Experience:

• A bachelor’s degree in Education or a related field; a Master’s degree is preferred.
• Significant experience in primary education, demonstrating effective teaching practices and curriculum design.
• Strong understanding of the development of reading, writing, and math in a primary setting.
• Proven ability to tailor lessons to meet the diverse needs of all students and create an inclusive classroom environment.
• Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with a commitment to collaboration and community engagement.
